The most simple thing to check would be for an earth issue Mike

Welcome to D2net. Strange issue you have there. Not heard of thet one before.
Is it really the headlamps that have become "connected" to the HRW, or is it the sidelights? If it is the sidelights, the most obvious place to look is the heater rear window switch, as they are connected through the switch illumination. Pull it out and check the connector, and for any signs of having got too hot. As mse says, a bad earth is the most common cause of stuff like this. Anything been modified on the vehicle recently? 1998 Tdi 90 SW, 2008 Td4 90 SW, 2012 2.2 90 SW, 2" raised Trailmaster/Terrafirma Heavy Track Raids, 255 MTīs, Recaro CSīs, anorak, wellingtons |

Thanks guys!
You are right, it is the sidelights actually. Let me look into the HRW switch. The car hasn't done any mod recently. I have light bar put on a while ago with illuminated switches installed above the console. Maybe that's related too? |

Somehow the problem fixed itself before I could find a time to trace the wires!
