Yeah, drive belt (britpart) ones do this, if not fit a new tensioner.

It is as if they have joined the belt on the cheap belts and the ridged join causes a sqeak.

yes, and keep the other as a spare so you won't need one.

Guess: probably the belt needs a little tighten having settled in and stretched since new.
Potentially could be an oil leak dripping onto the belt.....not sure if this engine is prone - not sure I've seen any posts on such a problem |

My tensioner had partly ceased and was causing my belt to squeal when starting, stopping and moving off at tick over.
Took the tensioner off and soaked it in GT85 and fitted a new Dayco belt, stopped the noise for a while but its coming back so will get a new tensioner. Pete. |

Taking the car back to the dealer in the morning.
Couple of things, The tensioner pulley has a visible (if not significant) vibration / movement when the engine is running - is this normal? When the engine is coming up to temperature the noise starts to subside and when fully up to temperature the noise goes completely (at idle, fast idle and full load) |

Just check your exhaust manifold studs while your looking around there, it would explain why the noise goes when things warm up. Had a few friends that have changed there fan belt because it squeals and it ended up being a broken or loose stud in the manifold.
