Any wizards on who can help with alarm system and an immobilised puma.(MY2007).
My drivers door actuator was playing up so gave a good squirt of lubricant and it seemed ok then yesterday it all went petong. The doors will not lock with the fob, the drivers door will lock with the key but does not trigger the other doors to lock. The internal lights do not come on when the door is open although they will if switched on. I checked and cleaned all the door switches, I also found Fuse7 had blown, but as soon as I replace it the sounder starts. Elderly neighbours not amused. I checked the rear off side door and it had a break in the wiring to the actuator. It had obviously happened before as it had enough joints to make a hippy happy. Replaced the wire soldered and heat shrunk so no more a possible problem. I have taken out the actuator from the drivers door and was looking to find some detail on the internals. It has a 12v dc motor and a micro switch. Tested the switch and it seems ok. The gears that drive the plunger are a bit iffy but cannot get them out of the casing to confirm. Any tips? Thanks for that, have studied the wiring diagrams but no further insight gained. The diagram sows the wiring from the switch and the motor. I tested the motor on the bench, works fine, switch already tested.
I think it might be the gearing in the unit. It seems to have a clutch mechanism but its a bit too loose from my pov. Tommy 110 XS TDCi |

Drilled a hole in the side to allow the shaft to be punched through. As suspected the clutch mechanism has failed. New one from dealers tomorrow hope this fixes the problem.
BTW the dealers price £36 was good when you consider no delivery charges and others were £33 plus delivery of 4 days. Thanks ever so much for your assistance and prompt response. Tommy 110 XS TDCi |
