Where to mount CB radio - Puma dash?
I have my CB radio thrown in behind the cubby at the moment. Not ideal... I want to mount it somewhere but I can't figure out where/how. I don't use it very often so I don't want to drill holes in the dash to mount it in a really prominent position or anything. But I want to mount it somewhere...

I have checked behind the cubby but there isn't really enough space there - or rather, if I mount it there it uses up too much usable space.

It's a small unit, smaller than a 1-din unit.

I have seen the face plate jobby from MudStuff to go on the passenger side but I don't really like it...

Are there any other solutions out there?

Interesting that you ask... I'm in the same boat...
I thought about under the seat and then getting one of those mic's with the display in, but it doesn't work with my CB...
I did quite like the idea of it being overhead as it's out of the way and not too noticeable, but, i've gone off that idea...

I'm currently thinking about building a raised cubby box with it all integrated in there, CB, amp, fuse box etc.... but not sure

I will watch this thread with interest

This is where I have mine:

Required a little bit of trimming but not much and it looks like it was supposed to fit there. Wiring was easy, power from the back of the lighter socket and antenna through the dash and up the A pillar. Mic sits on the shelf to the left of the steering wheel when I'm not using it.

The radio is attached in with sticky back Velcro.

Is this any use...?

Cheers

Edit: oops, I see you already discounted this... Embarassed

On mine, I've fitted the CB on the inside of the cubby box, on the sloping front section. It doesn't take too much room and is easy to access.

I've mounted my Midlands unit on the passenger side, where the handbrake would be.

It's out of the way enough that my wife's legs are not impeded, but still close enough for me to fiddle.

I've mounted the mike on the panel in front of the transfer case lever, so it's handy when off-road. --

I like that roof console actually. Any idea the price of it?

On second thought tho, how is it having the mic wire dangling covering the view in the rear view mirror the whole time..?
I like it but I wonder is it practical.
