Spain 2008 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 CSW Java Black
40km check up tomorrow
Any thing specif I should be checking?
this is the list from the once over that I would like to have them look at...They are a bit nit picking, but what the heck huh?
front of crank case drip (very small)
rust around the light surrond
the ever present water ingress
door molding on the both passenger doors (rear)
oil spray in the engin bay ( around the brake fluid resevoir)
antifreeze coming through the footwell ( heatercore)
cold warm heat at times on passenger side ( thanks dgardel for putting up the fix...let's see if they know about it)

anything that I am missing and that they should be checking, maybe a fault that hasn't reared it's ugly head?

Thanks for all
Cheers,

Hello John,

Having read your checklist I noticed the "front of crank case drip (very small)". It seems we might have the same issue and I am going to have it checked this week. If you want you can check my post with details on this issue here: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic4469.html and tell me if you see the same with your def.

Thank you and waiting for your reply

Cheers,
Mike

Hi Mike,
much the same as yours, except that it seems you loose a lot more than mine. I just have the very beginnings of something, but I wanted to have it looked at. Chances are they will tell me it is a diesel and it is sweating...( yeah right, gone are those days of the old mercedes sweating..)
Thanks for the comprehensive foto shoot that you loaded.

Goodmorning John from sunny Athens!!

I see at the news that you have some snow around there! Would be very interesting to test your Def-toy in some snowy conditions Smile

Please keep me informed about what they are going to tell you concerning the small oil leaking in the front of crankshaft during your service. I will also keep you informed when I go at my service about this issue.

Cheers,

Mike

Hello John,

I would really appreciate it if you could share with me and the other folks here who might encounter the same problem with oil leaking in the front of the crankshaft, what hapenned during your check at the dealer's. What did they tell you and how they fixed it...

Thank you very much.

Mike.
