Stahlbus do a similar product to Femco. As BW says they make no mess and make life a whole lot easier.

Previous owner left these in the truck. Are they the same even though the part numbers are slightly different? One ends “-AA” and the other “-BA”

There is also a smaller filter that is round and is paper like. I forgot to take a picture of that. No idea what it is. 2014 puma.

I've just done this but I cheated after seeing this thread. Very Happy I used a oil vacuum extractor through the dipstick first so there was just a dribble when I took the plug out.

When refilling a 2.2 with oil it can be very hard to read the fill level on the dipstick. Have a read of this to see the most accurate way of doing it.

I've just read about a probable catastrophic error that can happen with changing the oil on a 2.2. I obviously can only give anecdotal evidence even though I've changed the oil pump myself but it might be worth telling others.

I have changed my pump to the last revision LR058095 which is a vane type pump but the one specced for later engines... A 2.4 gear driven one might last longerish but as I intend at +50k from now it's a consumable.

A quirk I've only just discovered (after replacing mine) is that there's a 10 minute drain limit when doing an oil change before it can't prime itself.

Huuum this maybe an outside case but in my case it being a pump I'm unfamiliar with and couldn't find anything 100% just primed it with some 20w50 I had and slapped it on. Filled it with the correct oil after waiting for the sealant to set and cranked it lightly until the oil light went off. i.e. Crank without start and repeat as I couldn't be sure I'd break a seal in the fuel pump if I pulled a fuse.

Anyhow just to make sure that people know there's this 10min drain time hanging over their heads and it could be a gotcha for priming the pump. If you're conscientious about some weird engines it's probably not a problem but just because it's had a pump recall does not get you off the hook.

I recently change all the oil on my Defender 2.2 TDCi. Quite easy to do.

I use https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clarke-cht...ilter-wre/ to get off the old filter can, it was very tight.
