Dirty rear windows

Hi all,

The cleaning and fettling continues!

A couple of questions that I hope someone could answer.

Firstly, whats the best way to clean the rear windows. As per the picture, there is allot of green moss/sediment build up that I'd like to get rid of. Is there any way to easily remove the rear window panes, or do i have to clean them in situ?

Secondly, is there any way to replace this dilapidated fixture on the outside of the window?

Corroded Block-fixing-catch slide window very easy to replace you need part number depending on age of the vehicle

As for the muck and green stuff that is not so easy to get at unless you take the windows apart (not a five minute job)
I have found that if you use a long thin screwdriver with bits of cloth wound round the blade you can clean most of the gunk out of the space. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Thanks for the response.

Sorry for a new'b question, but where would you generally recommend purchasing replacement parts? is the dealership the only place, or is there a land rover specific auto factors?

Paint brush and APC,All Purpose Cleaner (let it soak to kill the moss)usually found under the sink,or buy Stardrops,Flash,Tesco's own Daisy. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

2011 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Stornoway Grey

I use moss killer from the garden centre. Spray on and just leave it.. it will die and then just brush off the residue with a clean toothbrush.

As for the corroded bracket, just unscrew it, reface it with a brush / sandpaper and respray with etch primer & a black paint of your choice. 1953 80"
