Fitting Puma bonnet to TD5
I've just purchased an oem Puma bonnet from LRspares (they were cheapest for orm steel).

Can I use my existing TD5 hinges and bonnet catch/striker when fitting the Puma bonnet to my TD5? Ie is just a case of unbolt the TD5 bonnet, move the release catch/cable over to the Puma bonnet and fit?

I know it's rarely that simple.... 2002MY Defender 90 H/T

They fit straight on nothing needed, though I would buy new plastic hinge inserts as they are so cheap.

The only thing you may find and I have come across this a couple of times, is that the hinges on the TD5 bulkhead can be a little low so the bonnet rubs against any wing top chequer plate you have fitted, but you can glue a little bit of rubber to the inside edge bottom of the bonnet to avoid the paint rubbing and rusting the metal. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

The only difference I found were the two adjustable height bump stops either side of the bonnet. The thread is much smaller on the puma bonnet. Had to use other bolts and put rubber end on them.
