Anti burst door handle problem (split door vehicle)

Old school question for those with knowledge of series or defenders with split doors ...

One of my anti-burst door handles has jammed in the closed position (better than if the door was open I suppose). Handle and lock mechanism move freely, but the latch is not released so the door won't open!

I'm guessing its

and I'm going to have to undo the bolts holding it in place and replace the whole handle and possibly the striker plate too by the looks of it. It doesn't look like the handle can be taken to pieces.

Any one able to offer any advice other than the above?
