Which rack is it Sphere?
I can just get my arms under a Patriot roof rack to do the nuts up. A bit on the painful side at times! Alternative is to undo all the roof rack clamps then get some levers such as 4 x 2 timber and raise the roofrack up so you can get your arms underneath. Coome. Consider some thin ply on the roof to prevent damage to the roof. The easiest solution is undo roof rack and lift it clear off the vehicle, either with a few bodies to assist around or an electric hoist however not always easy to do at home. Brendan |

It's a mcb4x4 rack so a tubular rack. I use to use two rhino bars and then used a fork lift to put on and off. Worked super but needed a couple of eyes to watch the roof. Upgraded to a full rack this year so I can use it for other things so the tent will be on and off quite a bit (forklift makes light work of removing it)
So my idea is bolting the tent to two lengths of box (basically two roof bars) and these I can clamp in a similar way to the edge of the rack where I can reach and get a socket on. |

Hi Sphere, I am not familiar with your rack.
However if you have a forklift available then the job is easier Would suggest you incorporate some eyebolts at each end of the bar. Makes attaching slings just that bit easier. Just ensure that your bars are of decent size. Brendan |

Hi Joris, Just read this post... I recently bought a camper trailer with a Espace Evolution fitted. The previous owner's GF had the same issue... Solution... he fitted a long 'loop' strap, fastened on either side of the rear of the 'roof' which then hangs down from the rear elevated side. Just grab hold of this at head height and pull it down. He has fitted a hook on the trailer so when the roof is nearly down after pulling, the loop goes under the hook which then holds the tent down against the gas strut pressure. Then it's much easier to just hook up the 4 straps, as you say front one's first and off you go! Works great! YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

You will have masses of space in the 1.6m! My delivery took nearer 3 weeks, but the delay was something do with the U.K. End of the logistics company. I would be interested to hear from you once you have tried it, I am sure you will be happy with the quality.

I had a couple of nights in the gordigear last weekend-best nights I've ever slept in any tent!
Build quality is fantastic. As Seabreeze said, tons of space. Long term plan, the 3 children will be sleeping in this one (mounted on modded Sankey) and I'm going to be ordering a 1.4m version for the 110 for the grown ups Highly recommended He who dies with the most toys...wins! |

That looks awesome! Pity we always camp with the dog though. She'd go nuts if she wasn't in the tent with us. |
