The more technical answer is that normally it comes down to Fuelling control - which is being affected by Gear Torque Control or OB Control (Overboost).

Maps have been changed without fully understanding their integration or progression. Therefore you end up with transition points that are not optimised... which leads to hesitation and vibration from unwanted Torque Steps.
