I wanted to get a steering and diff guards fitted before venturing too far off road. I hope to get this done before he 20th February, but will have to let you know closer to the time.

If you've got a Smartphone or Tablet you can download the OS maps App.
That'll give you up to date mapping, many sites and paper maps are out of date and as legalities can change you can easily break the ROW laws by accident.

Lane behind me was a BOAT but was downgraded to a Bridleway due to being too narrow with dangerous entrance and exit safety for vehicles.

Over Christmas some numb nuts have been driving it in the middle of the night. Rolling Eyes Which is illegal and since the land owner has put concrete chucks each end just to stop vehicles.

Anyway, moral of the story is just double check everything is up to date. If it's TRO'd it should be signed as such.
It's the un-signed BOAT's that appear on outdated maps you've got to watch.

Thumbs Up

There is a limit of 6 to comply with the code of practice.

@ JOW
I can absolutely assure you there is no need for diff guards or steering protection in the Thetford area.......there is only one rock in that part of the world, by the old A11......it's about 100ft high and has a bloke on the top of it. If you hit that a bent diff casing will be the least of your worries 😀 MY15.5 110XS CSW

There's 3 of us confirmed at the moment (myself, Tomcat 106 and Stevie D) and I guess the fairest way is to do it is a first come first served basis.

Stupot - More than welcome to join.

Merlin and JOW - If you're still wanting to come you'll make up the first 6. As you've already shown interest you should have first refusal.

If more want to come we can put a couple of groups together I'm more than happy to put a couple of routes together with a common meeting place for us all to have lunch together. So as always, more the merrier!

Shocked Just had a double check and there's more interest in this than I thought! List of names of people interested below:

Myself
JOW
Tomcat (confirmed)
Tack
Merlin
Stevie D (confirmed)
Stupot

So we're already over the 6 limit if everyone is still coming on the 20th Feb and will need to go in two groups. I can sort all of that out with routes etc if those who haven't confirmed can do.

Cheers! Thumbs Up

I've got no issue with it, no reason a days green laning shouldn't be a family day out. Pass the torch and all that!

They can open and close the two gates on the common! Always handy to have someone to do that, especially if it is bucketing down.

If you want to print Ordnance Survey maps, use this:

All sounds good to me! If everyone's happy with it I'd probably bring along SWMBO and kids (6 & 4)?

Evening all. I've received PMs from Jow, Merlin, Stevie D and Merlin making us a group of 5 so far. One space left and then I'll split us into two groups.

I'm going to look over the maps in the coming weeks so once I've done that I'll get in touch with all confirmed.

Cheers.

Quick update on this, and to show I've not forgotten about it! I've marked up my map with all of the lanes in and around Thetford and surrounding areas. Before I start planning any routes does anyone know of any lanes that are closed at the moment, or any that are open and shouldn't be missed?

I will plan a route and check the legality of all lanes before but if there's any information out there from people it would be helpful and appreciated.

Cheers,
SG
