td5 not holding boost
hello everyone , while i remember , during yesterdays whizz about , i noticed the boost , does go up to 1.35 on my nanocom , but then tails off to a low reading , i have a very long uphill section of a bypass near me , and with the fitted special track tyres , she`ll pull 70 and thats it , was just wondering why it does not hold boost , if its leaking , which side would be coursing the drop ? my foot was buried in the boards for well over a mile , yet once its gets up there , fairly sharpish , the boost goes drops away

Might be worth removing and cleaning the map sensor Thumbs Up

But it could be a pipe or the intercooler. No strange noises is presume? 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

cor , you lot are fast , no strange noises cos the tyres n straight thru pipe are loud enough , its got a new big intercooler , fancy pipes etc , i`ll change the map sensor , as i have a spare , the one in is clean , a thought , could the turbo not have enough puff with the bigger intercooler i wonder

no smoke , new actuator , found the old one seized solid at the weekend , hence why my nanocom was plugged in to test n set up

New intercooler and pipes would be my fist port of call then. Anything that has changed from before should be the first thing to check. Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Also if you are running a boost limit box that could have gone faulty. But definately check what's changed first Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Yeah what boost your running? 18psi is the limit. Any above needs a boost box or uprated MAP sensor + raised boost limit

Leaky new silicon pipes would be my guess. Checked they've not slipped and the clips are tight tight. Then intercooler Thumbs Up

Standard boost on a Td5 is 1 Bar (~15psi) 19psi is right at the upper limit of what the ECU will allow before boost cut strategy kicks in. 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon
