Had a Anderson on the front and rear of my last defender but was just bolted to the bumper and always looking a little Heath Robinson

Looking for ideas of a more professional fitting

Seatbox floor pan but underneath? Should be out of sight, but relatively dry, but reachable.
I think there are caps / covers you can get too.

I've known and seen others with one in a locking wingtop faux vent too. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Gmb do a lockable box that fits in the unused air vent on top of the drivers wing and I remember seeing pics on here of someone fitting the connector in the box. It was a while ago and I can't remember who did it but it looked neat and protected from the elements until needed. Ray

As I have to unbolt my 3rd party seats to access the battery I fitted one inside the battery box with access point below the front passenger seat base to provide quick access should I flatten the battery again - and also used for my solar trickle charge connection when not in use. 2006 TD5

I have Mazda RX8 seats fitted so getting to my battery is a faff (4 bolts to undo - oh the pain).

So, as i'm always jumping people (ooooh errrr misses), I thought i'd mount my anderson connector externally. I took my positive from the starter motor and the ground to same point as my winch. I'm quite anal on ruining my lines and sticking things on willy-nilly. So, this is almost a covert install... but since upgrading to a full size intercooler, i'm going to have to move it Sad

^ Do you have switch between starter and connector or is it always live? Cheers, Vincent

The correct answer would be yes, there is a switch. However, that switch is still in a box waiting to be fitted. My idea was to have it simply in the engine bay or possibly hinge the spare wingtop vent and have it in there (locked) TD5 Defender 90

I would not do without a switch... It would be to easy for a scumb@g to cause a short circuit and start fireworks...
I also took the feed for my winch from the starter an so I used a switch in this (locked) wingtop box. Not cheap but excellent quality.
