CHEERS!! It was the Clyde Coast at Skelmorlie / Largs. Hoping to get up Loch Lomond way in a couple weeks. Those are some cracking looking machines you have too! |

Hi Jim, I assume the Double Din unit has satnav facility via the Iphone? I guess it therefore only works when you have mobile reception? How are you getting on with it?
Also out of pure curiosity I wonder why you chose to buy the 110 from a dealer and then go to Twisted rather than just getting one straight from Twisted? It sounds like you're going to have one amazing 110 there!! Do keep us posted on developments. Since i don't have the funds to complete my dream 110 I like to live it through others! |

Good question on the reception. I've been pretty lucky with the likes of Apple Maps when headed North... up there - say in the far northern reaches where 3G is kinda nonexistent... I'm not sure what it'll be like but I have a big ol map book too... and I am up there quite a lot.
In terms of the buying from dealer... I dunno how it worked out that way but the allocation was so tight for new Defenders (July) and I just went with it... plus I got exactly what I was after. |

Lovely these classic VDO gauges. Perfect harmony with the Land Rover cube.
Need to find a good mechanic who knows where/how best to insert the sender in the system, and then install a VDO water temp meter in that same location as yours. (Actually the opposite side) Talking about the below. Would be my preferred solution for always being able to read the exact cooling water temp. Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Obviously VDO are an excellent quality guage.
However, for a real "Retro" look, does anyone use Smiths guages? Pickles. |

Salt and Shake...
The VDO is a nice gauge. I was looking at the transmitted light versions which are more in line with the dash dials, but in white. In the end this was the one I could get my hands on the quickest. Flipped out all the interior lights for LEDs yesterday. Makes a big difference inside the car when the courtesy lights come on now. |

Ha Ha. I think I can just remember when Smiths Crisps were introduced,...the packet used to contain a little blue bit of twisted up paper containing the salt!! Martin. |

Next item to install is a replacement glove box. Use up that dead space taken up by polystyrene!!
