NFU have been insuring my modified cars for 30 years, from Group 2 Mk1 Escort steel arched big-winged RS1600 to my current 200Tdi with tweaked pump & Turbo & big Intercooler.
Best deal through a Branch rather than their Call Centre though. |

Ha ha, it was fine, the test carried out today proved that it is not loosing pressure but the actuator and control side is goosed and they come as one part.
I did a search on here and the issues talked about regarding it goi g into limp mode with no MIL coming on are exactly what is happening. They all found 2 stored fault codes when the diagnosed it. Russell 2011MY 110 XS USW Black |

At that sort of money, it is well worth sticking a hybrid on there, for an extra couple of hundred quid http://www.alivetuning.com/product/billet-...ender-2-4/ |

It's been a few years since I've been to North Walsham when I spent my time at Paston College, but far from down Market!
Well NFU can back last Friday saying no problem and the called up on Monday to say they would ad a minimum 30% loading to my policy for the turbo and the add an additional loading for the BHP increase once the final figure was know! I contacted BAS direct and PM'd Pete last Friday and haven't had a response so took the cheaper and quicker option and have booked it in to have the turbo replaced by Land Rover on Monday. There was an issue with the wiring harness to the turbo actuator being stretched too tight over the A/C compressor and consequently suffering damage resulting in actuator malfunctions.
I don't know if you have A/C or are aware of this, but it might be worth checking if not already done before splashing the cash on a new turbo. |

NFU Buckingham office refused to quote on my 110 last year as once I told them about the remap and the other minor odds & sods they came back saying my vehicle was 'too modified'! Anyone knowing my 110 would hardly describe it as such....
They then asked if they could quote me for my home/contents insurance! NFU were then told to FRO Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless. |

Not very user friendly - my g/f rang up this week to ask for a quote on our Defender. First queston was "Are you the registered keeper", to which she replied no as my name is on the paperwork. NFU then refused to continue as they could only speak to the registered keeper!
Well done NFU |

The actuator is generally available on its own, albeit not from Land Rover.
There are also specialists who will repair and overhaul turbos for reasonable prices. |
