Is it any wonder that insurers are perceived as difficult to deal with. It's like they're on automatic, the first response is the last response. Wouldn't it be great if they were open to discuss something like this, wherein the vehicle is a new model and just registered. They could call the dealer for verification, be pro-active, I'll pinch myself and wake up in a moment.
Now if I could just locate that emoticon of the ostrich with it's head buried firmly in the sand I would have a good finish Any farther South and I'll need to trade the Defender in for a Landing Craft |

I think you'll be okay with a Heritage.
The landmark doesn't seem to exist (they couldn't even find it on the Landrover site) in the insurance world. |

Landrover have come through with the free 7 days insurance, so I can go and pick my teddy up.
Just need to find somebody to insure it in the next week. |

Tbh I think that's the first thing they'll offer, although I dread to think of the cost.

As per my other topic post re insurance - Swinton, A-Plan and Saga all offered to insure my Landmark as an XS with an insurance note stating that it was a Landmark spec. All the quotes were decent, with no increase above the standard XS price.

Hello John,
This all sounds like a bit of a pain! However; This sort of thing happens all the time. Diligent customers such as yourself are early to sort out their insurance prior to your collection of their car. However, the vehicle is usually only taxed on the day of collection. Insurance companies generally just pop the reg in, and if nothing comes up, the car doesn't exist so see ya later! I would be willing to bet that if you call you insurance company again a few days after delivery, they will be able to pull your car across from the database. You can always insure your car with the Land Rover insurance.... But in my experience this often isn't the cheapest option. Also I don't know if you've seen my other thread, but there are some scrotes currently active in Cheshire so take care with it! |
