Did LR in their wisdom fit a standard type plug n' play connector to the rear of their radio/cd units or will I have some electrical jiggery pokery to do if I upgrade to a more modern unit e.g. Alpine iDe-178BT

From 2002MY Td5 used a BMW type audio connector (same as the R50/R53 Minis). Earlier Td5s used standard ISO

There isn't a great deal of room in the centre section especially as the BMW connector is quite large. You maybe better off changing the BMW to ISO as most head units will then be compatible 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon
