I was thinking about that but why does it work in the intermittent setting? Roel

No other reaction? So If it is the park switch why does it work in the intermittent setting? I am not convinced yet. Roel

Hi Roel, most probably it is indeed the park switch, see this topic here. Cheers, Vincent

Ye mine did that. Worked on intermittent but didn't on normal. I swapped the relay (twice) first. But it was the park switch. Not to bad a fix and cheap.

It works on intermittent because the intermittent timer's pulse just happens to be the right duration to run one full wipe. Mine was exactly the same.

it wasnt on mine, I changed the switch, but it was the same, in heavy rain parks correctly, but light rain it doesnt so I have to change the motor and drive "Rafiki" 2007 110 STW - Rolling rebuild.

I just had this problem of wipers stopping instantly when switched off., it started after I changed the motor for other reasons (slow and old)..
The cause was the pin on the switch getting stuck down, this cuts the live feed when the wipers are off so there is no power for them to return to park position.. The pin on the switch was getting stuck down because the plastic housing around the pin was being pinched by hole on the gearbox housing. Fixed by filing the hole with a few slides of a small wood file, works perfectly Click image to enlarge |
