To all Avenutre 110 owners. I have just read my hand book, including a single page supplement relating to the engine specification. It has been given a change in power from 122ps to 150ps (or BHP) ie it is now the same as the 90, I thought it was pulling well on the way home on x-mas eve. Hope it doesn't upset to many 90 owners,

I'm going on what the supplement sheet said that was added to my vehicles user book, it didn't state 90's only. I will wait to see what the registration V5 says when I get it. However it does seem to pull well as I said earlier,

I suspect all the book sets are the same. I doubt JLR will get it wrong, although no one will complain.

Thanks Lord Hemming for the pics. I've seen those on google but just thought somebody may have taken delivery and had some different pics. Seems people are posting more about the heritage than the adventure. Personally I wanted the adventure and finally bit the bullet. I'm a bit excited as I've always wanted to buy one of the last defenders since I was a teenager., having learnt to drive in one and having spent most of my working life in one (you'd have thought I'd have learnt by now!). I must have looked at more defender related stuff over the last week than ever before! Hopefully more pics will be added soon, mine won't arrive until March.

IMHO, the 150HP upgrade relates only to Adventure 90 & Autobiography,........why it does not relate to 110 I have no idea, doesn't make sense to me,...maybe one of the tuners on here may know the reason.

I've just picked up my adventure 90
I also got a landmark 90 at the end of October I have to say the adventure does seem to have more mid range grunt than the landmark, But the biggest difference is the gear change, the adventure is so much more positive than the landmark Also the LED headlights make a massive difference |

Agreed - LED headlights would be a must have upgrade on any Defender.

I got the 110 Adventure last week. It has been fun to date. I have a Nakatanenga wheel carrier to fit tomorrow and then remove the 3rd row seats. MUD wide mirrors to be ordered and that is it.
Here is a picture at the dealers and the obligatory one with the family hound. Thanks all for the advice on here. Great forum. Next is planning a summer trip to the pyrenees. Any route advice welcome! Click image to enlarge |

Andy, cannot agree more that a good thorough Dinitrol application is a must, but as to the company you mention there, suggest you do a bit more research about them by a search on the forum here and elsewhere on the internet. Mechanically it seems that a +/- 32 kg vertical load may seem too much for the rear door hinges/door itself - on the long term - especially if you venture off-road frequently - and especially if you travel corrugated gravel roads frequently. On smooth sealed bitumen it will be less of a problem - but long term the hinges or door seem to give problems eventually. 2 Types of wheel carrier available - with corresponding price difference - pros and cons discussed on the forum - but don't have exact link now. I have the Frontrunner one - very similar to the Mantec one - with 2 attached points. With less load and hence "vibration" on the rear door - it also seems the rubber seal works better and less dust ingress off-road. One does notice however - on an uneven surface - that there must be some body flex - and because of the 2 mounting points - that the rear door is slightly more difficult to open. (No problem with closing though) |
