Thanks everyone - it would be good to know if Land Rover have a response - maybe they did some testing and can say why they chose to add them.
They are an expensive aftermarket add on if they have no value at all. |

Are there any fitting instructions available? Both for the standard fit, and a fit with sidesteps?
thanks |

I have seen these installed & have actually stood on them,...solid as a rock, and a brilliant, practical solution, if you require side steps,...looks factory too! Pickles. |

Thanks, but i was more talking about instructions for the side protectors rather than the steps. i already have the side steps and was thinking of taking them off to put the side protectors on, just wondering what the instructions for the sid protectors on their own are? or maybe I should just leave the steps on. thanks

Anyone else fitted side steps or did it mean removing the alloy protection
110 Adventure due shortly & SWMBO will need something to stand on to get in Thought about getting a taller wife but then I could not afford the defender 2020 P300 HSE |

I don't have an adventure model or side steps but my missis struggles to get in so i have a plastic fold flat step on a lanyard that she sets up and retrieves with the lanyard, folds flat and goes in the passenger footwell. people sometimes look at her a bit funny, but probably not as bad as her trying to get in without a step!

Just had the side armour put on my adventure 110 that had side steps factory fitted. A slightly different take on the other two options shown here in this forum section. Like the result, but i am biased!
Thought people might be interested in a few pics. Thanks |

Sorry some more details - and if you click gallery the images appear, they do not seem to have been embedded in the post itself - I must have done something wrong!
The side steps had approx 20mm cut off each end and the end caps replaced - this way there was then only the small cutouts in the armour where the side step support needed to go - but it still maintained the original side step connection. interested to hear people's thoughts. thanks |
