Depending on conditions I have cleaned paper air filters multiple times, by cleaned I mean I remove the air filter and used an airline to remove the dust, driving through sand and dust will clog a filter quickly and regular cleaning is important.
*when cleaning an air filter with an airline make sure you blow the dirt out of the filter and not into it 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html 90 V8 - Maggie http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic42564.html 110 TD5 - Buggsy http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic59029.html 52HG25 lightweight https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72342.html D3 Hse - Fiona Capri 2l S - Anna Think I might have a problem............ |

Or you could put a brand new one in?
Why bother cleaning it if you have already removed it? Seems a bit backwards to me Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197 Self confessed mileage hunter |

Shouldn't be cleaned, it should be replaced.
Relatively cheap, and removing and refitting the same filter give a higher likelihood of contamination. Sure, you can brush it off a little on the inlet side carefully. But that is purely a regular maintenance thing, they should IMHO be changed no later than every other year. I sometimes change it every year depending on condition. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ |
