Being partial to a good sausage. (Oh! Matron). I just wondered what if any brands people can recommend, my favourite and in my opinion takes some beating is ‘Edwards of Conwy’ outdoor reared pork, a tastier banger I have yet to find, but open to suggestions.
Braughing Bangers, of course... Bow down

Best I have ever tasted and World renowned... Whistle

If you like sausages AND love a good curry, then you can't beat Uncle Henry's (near Kirton Lindsey in Lincs) award winning Argy Bargy sausages Bow down

If you are seriously into sausages then this event is a must for you - The Lincolnshire Sausage Festival which takes place on 24th October at Lincoln Castle.

Love sausages, always have, as long as they are properly cooked, inside & out. Wifey bakes them in the oven,....gives a nice roasted crispy coating.
One of my favourite meals is sausages, 3 veg, & gravy,...simple, but I love it!!!

If its British then a plain and simple Lincolnshire is hard to beat, for an everyday one try sainsburys own butchers choice Lincolnshire. If foreign then I have to agree with venomator the 'Bratty' is good, for a bit of spice try a currywurst. Of course in France then Toulouse sausage is wonderful and if in Spain..........
Did I say I likes a sossy!!
For cooking try a George Foreman grill a bit like bbq indoors

Here is the sausage nec plus ultra.... A Belgian delight.... French fries with currywurst and a Stella Artois. Whistle

Or, even better, the currywurst special, cut open in the length before deep frying, and then mayo, ketchup and fresh onion in it. Shocked

Of course 100% Beef certified. Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter
Don't know how many millions of these get sold by french fries shops every week, but it is an absolute classic, cross border too because the Dutch and the North of France copycatting this. Thumbs Up
Better for our health that we don't have such french fries shops here. Cool

Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

For those of us local to Gaydon then the tomato sausages from H C. Lewis butchers in Kineton are amazing. Done as hot dogs on the BBQ is hard to beat.

I'll go along with that. Our local butcher does a mean Pork and Leek which was awarded a gold medal.

My missus likes them too. She says she'd like a bigger sausage now and then. Then she gets that distant gaze in her eyes. I can't think what she means, but she does enjoy going to her tennis lessons. Comes back exhausted bless her. Rolling Eyes

Regular Cumberland man myself, but any tips for cooking the best sausage (non BBQ)?

(I have to admit I often end up either over or under doing mine, and spoiling whatever 'fancy' sausage I've just bought). Embarassed

And don't say 'let the missus do them', she's no better...
Hob, oven, grill? I've even heard some boil first?

Boiling first is good. My 80 year old mum does that. The Sausages are fully cooked and moist, just frighten them with the pan or grill and they're done. 1999 Td5 110 CSW
