Winch bumper arrived today, Warn Zeon 10s is hopefully not lost and will arrive tomorrow... Took a bit of time today to at least prep for the install, first thing was just to move the number plate, decided to try it on the bowler guard but made up 2 brackets to hold it vertical
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Decided to use the Blue Sea isolating switch, I like these as they have a good rating and are well made. Wanted it close to the driving position so opted for the cubby beside the other switches I have moved. My last truck had it just in front of the battery box but never liked it hidden down there. Have my cable routed over to the battery so ready for the winch. Spent the morning fitted the Mantec winch bumper. Didn't take the flatdog version with the drl's as I have enough lights going on and don't what it to look too over done...
No major issues, the bowler guard needed to have a few corners trimmed. Click image to enlarge Then the A bar, my one is non winch but you can see he mould line for the insert they take out for the two types so it's easy just to trim around this... Click image to enlarge All fitted back on ready for the winch... Thanks....
Couple more close ups. Its wasnt that bad to fit, just more awkward as you have brackets galore to line up and bolt togther through the chassis legs. They are the land rover ones, fitted from factory. Andy

That is one awesome looking and capable defender! I'm very jealous especially of the double DIN! Can't help thinking the number plate is very vulnerable, surely the first time you need to use the winch you'll drag the number plate off?

Yeah it's down low but will try it for a while. Once I set the winch in I will get a better idea, like the idea of the detachable holder. Andy

My FCX additions arrived today.... I am very happy with the factory full premium so just opted for some matching bits from Matt.

Looks just great! Just fitted the same FCX padded cubby lid and have the rest on my wishlist!! I'm guessing a silly question but are you pleased with the Startech wheel, sit right and feel nice? Did you or insurers have any concerns with a quick release steering wheel? I like the idea but am slightly concerned over safety. Cheers.

The wheel is great. Have had a few momo's on the last truck but this just feels so much better... Fits in better and look like its from factory. Andy

The snap on mechanism appears to be very well made also...I can't figure out how a mistake could happen and the wheel release. Andy

Thanks for the comments. This is long becoming my favourite defender! Just got my own Stornaway 110 so great inspiration. I'm sure you're right with the wheel being perfectly safe. Can't wait to see whats next... other than the winch obviously. Not sure there is much more you can do....

Making up a little loom now for the front footwell lights... They are from a FFRR but think they are the same as the lights in the svx cubby??
