What did you drive before? are you coming completely up off the clutch? isint it part of the LR anti shunt things that came in with TD5 to stop too much power going in too soon after a gear change. What happens if you pull the multiplug on top of the clutch res. thats the only way the vehicle knows the clutch is in - i am led to believe. See if it still does it then. Or just apply power slightly later.
cant say i have ever had a problem with this but then i am not driving particularly briskley. Do you notice it on other Pumas or just yours? Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

It's my first LD. I release the clutch completely before accelerating again. Just started noticing it 2 days again, it just feels off.

Hello John051 and welcome to the site....
We could theoretically come up with a long list of possibilities for your symptom. Having sufferred similar I would personally suspect the well publicised EGR Valve. I would pop along to your dealers and thrash it out with them. Mine sufferred the same and didn't throw up a latched fault for months I was always going to clean it but never got round to it. In the end I got a MIL light and a latched fault. Look here: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic2227.html?highlight=egr+valve Once sorted you could also consider fitting a blank: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic3115.html?highlight=blanks Then again it could be something completely different. Good luck and once again welcome. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! Yes! It only takes a miniscule bit of crud, grit or carbon to get them to start sticking! Read the thread links and get it to your dealer! At only two months old you do not have to worry or fret, let them sort it!

OK, thanks for the advice! It's only a 2 minute drive from my house to the dealer so I'll see what they'll say next week.

No excuses then!!! Even if they don't find any latched faults try and insist on an EGR Valve replacement it will discount it if the fault continues! With the history of EGR Valve problems it shouldn't be too difficult for them to agree. Let us know how you get on! Just got back from the dealer. Left the Landy there and they will try to figger out what's wrong with it tomorrow... I told the head mechanic about the EGR valve but he thinks it's unlikely that's the cause of the problem.
PS: After the problems I had at the end of last week and weekend the car drove perfectly to the dealer? Grt, J |

I found that the EGR issue only shows up once the car is warm - when the temp needle is at/past halfway. The dealer confirmed this by saying that apparently below temp, the EGR operation is excluded as it could cause rough running when engine is cold.
Anyone else had similar experience? Gavster 2010 Puma 110 |

Not very experienced then! Or just not receptive to a customer coming up with a potential solution to a problem he as the head mechanic should be aware of? Do a search on here under EGR Valve, print it off, and shove it up his left nostril! Be interesting to see how unlikely he thinks it is then! My EGR valve is being changed as we speak.
Mine starts when the car is cold in the morning and you can hear the drive motor chirping as if something metal is rubbing in the mechanism. Almost sounds like it is hunting for it's correct position. When you turn off the motor the cleaning cycle sounds like a bag of loose spanners. The problems I had before the audible noise was a few jerks in the morning when cold, but this dissapeared after some time. |

Collected my Landy from the dealership this evening. They checked everything, did an extensive testdrive and a LR specialist (who happened to be there today) did a software update. They couldn't really find anything wrong... The drive home was OK and the car responded good to my gear changes - no lag. I made a deal with the head technician that, if the problem reoccurs, I could pop by to make him feel the lag.
Man, I missed her! Gr, J |

CL, how is your Puma since the EGR has been replaced? Better performance/consumption? |
