As a Bowler owner - and to clarify things:

Bowler/Land Rover warrant anything the engine tune may be responsible for - dealt with via your normal LR dealer. Anything else your Dealer/Land Rover warrant. Again dealt with via your normal LR dealer (You do not have to go to Bowler for any warranty work. ie whichever party is responsible it will be covered by the normal LR warranty at the dealers.)

ONLY Bowler have this warranty arrangement with LR.

Not so........ Nurberg/Urban Truck work on exactly the same basis as Bowler. Its on my sales receipt Thumbs Up

Not when I visited them (prior to going to Bowler) and asked them specifically and in detail about, how and who by, their warranty issues were dealt with - but "you pays your money and take your choice!" as the saying goes. Rolling Eyes

Ken - that is beautiful. Really like the look (I am imagining my 110 in a similar look Smile ).

Three questions - dare I ask the cost (and I imagine the pack included brakes and suspension?), is the roll bar really necessary - is the Defender that bad in a roll situation? - and is the clutch uprated too (I read on another thread that the Autobiography clutch is uprated to deal with 'just' 150bhp?

OP - Sorry to stray off topic, hope you don't mind.

It's one of the 2 suppliers you listed that supply Bowler with their maps Wink. And it's not the one you origionally booked in with Laughing.

@ FellRunner

Costs are publicised on the Bowler Website

Rollbar is cosmetic but part of the package

Clutch not upgraded (Time will tell if required however I understand the Bowler Challenge trucks also run on standard Clutch)

Looking to remap but was going to wait till warranty expired - didnt know Bowlers tune could be done with warranty not affected.

So, to those who have it, is the stage 1 good, compared to say BAS or Alive? If similar might go Bowler instead....

Cheers

Andy

I think its only fair to say that I went with Bowler mainly because of the warranty. Its not a reflection of how good Bowler remap is compared to Alive & BAS. I am sure they are all good and I couldn't recommend Bowler on the basis of performance - I just can't say.

However, if as taazzukcb is implying BAS supply Bowler with their remaps, then I have effectively paid £300 +VAT extra to have them fit the ECU for me, provide warranty cover and add some stickers. To be honest, that sounds fine to me! Also, if I were to re-sell the vehicle (unlikely), the Bowler remap would probably be more desirable than others.

Btw a stage 1 remap simply makes the truck drive like a 'normal' car. Its still no sports racer. If you want 'blistering' performance I expect the Stage 2 offers that. But as I said before, Defender Challenge series only have Stage 1 tunes. 2015 110 XS CSW Montalcino Red with Black Pack
