2010 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 PU Caledonian Blue

help 2010 puma engine missing

Hello all I have just signed up to site to see if anyone can help . My landy was running perfect till I had it serviced then noticed a small occasional misfire nothing too serious at first but as week went on developed in to a issue so had mechanic to take a look it would rev up perfectly when not under load but when being driven up hill would miss seriously . He fitted a new fuel pump pressure regulator and it is now running worse than ever especially around 2000 rpm but strangely rev counter does not fall that much even when it is missing he says we now need to change pressure bar relief valve . will this cure problem as I am getting desperate as need my landy to do my job and hoping someone on here might recognise the problem and suggest a cure

This might be stating the obvious. You stated that the problem started after a service. If they changed the diesel filter did they fill the replacement with diesel prior to fitting it? If not there could be air in your fuel system and it could need primed. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Turns out it was the regulator that I had purchased cheaply of e-bay £40 that was faulty. After fitting a new land rover one all is back ok now . Expensive lesson learnt
