Front Wheel Drive Backlash

Just changed the wheels/tyres over to the Summer set.
While I had a front wheel off the ground, I noticed what I think is a high degree of backlash between the wheel and the propshaft - 22 degrees to be precise (around 165mm on the tyre).

I know it's an old piece of kit but is it a case of "They all do that, Sir, it's a Land Rover" or do I now have something else I need to add to the refurbishment list?

There are many, many components in the front axle which can wear and the cumulative effect can be considerable even when the individual parts are not too bad. If you had one wheel on the ground and are rotating the other you are potentially seeing the cumulate wear in both drive flanges, both CVs, both halfshafts, all the differential gears, and the ring and pinion in the diff.

If it runs OK and without excessive rumbling, knocks and clonks, then to be honest I wouldn't worry.
