Looks great, the seats do work well with the red.

I think what they have done with the headlining balances the seat inserts somewhat:

Great spot, colour looks different again, but no bad thing. I actually like it without the alpine windows, suits the Heritage. Biggest shock, I'm actually warming to the grill still not sure on the side runners. I would prefer a simple step so i hope that the SW doesn't come with runners. cheers for posting Paul |

Hi Nidge, Managed to find this magazine in a Perth newsagent, & the photo's look great. Just wondering if the rear step is also standard on the SW variant? That would be nice. As for side runners these are one of two options offered in Australia, along with the sunroof. You can choose the side steps in silver or black, mine is coming with silver as it matches the other silver accents.

Collected the XS today, it's been a long time since I have driven a defender.
It's noisy, unrefined, bouncy and feels just like my 1960 Austin Healey. I absolutely love it! Driving it is like putting on a really worn old favourite piece of clothing, immediately comfortable and just right. Dog likes it in the back too, so does my wife and kids. It's not often we all agree on something Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Just reading through the LR website and the history of the defender:
https://live.landrover.co.uk/design/series-one-defender-history and came across the pricing for the first ones - £450. Quite surprised to use an online inflation calculator and see that the equivalent price today would be £11,439.55. Can that be right? |

Alpine windows are actually recessed into the "county" style roofs so not as simple as just retro fitting them (i know they're not on older Defenders, but somewhere along the td5 line when they put the ribs in the roof they changed the pressing)

Yet more photos of the Heritage hardtop on pistonheads, maybe I was a bit hasty in cancelling my order! This one has Alpine Windows and AC as well by the looks of it.
