Lurch from front to rear to front axles when selecting 2nd
Hi All,
Brand new XS 110 - has happened a couple of times within first 35 miles on road: when in forward travel and selecting 2nd gear the vehicle abruptly lurched forwards and rearwards uncontrollably (back and forth). I immediately re-engaged the clutch to take it out of 2nd gear. I’m certainly not unused to driving defenders/land rovers albeit more so without anti stall on and off road. I’ve come to the conclusion that I may have inadvertently left my foot slightly pressed on the clutch when engaging into 2nd… and / or the anti-stall is misreading the selection… human error or a known issue?

Very Welcome....

Had to resist the urge to type the "They all do that Sir!" But succumbed to it in the end, hence this post. Laughing

In mitigation maybe not all.....but common enough. With a slight change in driving style (as difficult as that may be the older you get) you will get used to it I am sure. Enjoy it and welcome to the madhouse.

Takes a few weeks but you seem to get into 3rd gear a lot quicker , I find a very relaxed style of driving seems to cure it, rather then the balls out method I started with !
