Raise it with your dealer and he can get photos himself and get the necessary approval in advance. It'll be a windscreen out job and I would request they use sealant to seal it back in to prevent the ingress of crud in the windscreen seal that retains moisture and causes the issue. (I had exactly the same). The window blocks are also notorious for this and I eventually just swapped mine out for either Croytech or stainless.
Up to you if you have it done at a service? My dealer has it's own body-shop but it is situated elsewhere and has it's own reception and booking in process so you may have to align the servicing and repair accordingly with the two? I would have it done sooner rather than later. It's an easy fix and one that your dealer has seen a million times. Don't wait and let it get worse  |

Cheers I'll get it down to the dealer later. Bit disappointed as this one has done 40k trouble free miles.
Does the paint have to fall off before they sort it out or will they sort the bubbling. Do want it sorting as we can't get a new one. |

I was thinking about swapping the blocks they didn't bother me. I was looking into updated bonnet hinges.

Rob whilst you're at it I would go over the rest with a fine tooth-comb and see what else you may discover especially rear cappings, roof gutters, lower rear edge of front bumper, lamp bezels, sidesteps (if fitted) and intercooler grille to name but a few? Just a selection of the 'usual suspects' along with the two mentioned in your post. You could get the lot done in one go, whatever you find. Isnt the frame alloy! alloy corrosion after a year is disgraceful! needs sorting straight away! |

The collection of dirt in the window frame under the seal is very common and very well documented. It shocked me when I saw on mine how much had accumulated. This then retains moisture and it rots out very quickly. Below is a cut and paste from another thread and details in the link contained therein of how the same issue was causing damp footwells.
"Details of leaking seals and crud collecting underneath are well documented......only real way of sorting is get the windscreen out, channel cleaned, new seal and sealant applied on refitting the glass. Otherwise you'll simply be sealing the crud in that's already there." If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! No expert on these things...but if it is alloy then it's probably more susceptible to corrosion due to contamination from ferrous metals.

Your right but i thought the process was a little slower than rust......corroding after a year is disgraceful!

I think the idea is that the process should be free from contamination in which case you won't have a problem. I had a similar issue with an XKR quite a few years ago.
And I agree, it's shameful. |

I have already had to replace the windscreen. The metal round the window was holding a lot of water. The chap from auto glass put some black sealer on it.
I will go over the rest of the 110 ASAP probably join the detailing club on here and have a go with a clay bar. I'll be booking it in for under body protection after I sort the window as well. The rear cross member has lost its colour. Cheers for the replies |

What do you mean by easy fix? quick rub down and paint or windscreen out frame out rub down and paint and re seal? |

I meant easy for an expert body shop to repair.
and easy as they repair these issues all the time, and easy as in don't loose any sleep over it, as it will be properly fixed. |

The only difficult aspect as explained to me by the experts is getting a heated windscreen out (if you have one fitted) without damaging it. The elements are inherently liable to damage on removal and that is why when you are suffering with water ingress this is the last thing they will do before all other avenues are explored first. If you've not a heated windscreen no worries whatsoever.
