Doing both means, double the improvement. I would fit the crystal lights first if a choice between the two, they make that much difference and they don't break as easy. Changed ours after cracking both on Iceland, we had four cracked head lights amongst the Defenders with us. Crystal ones were fine in 2011, best upgrade for a Defender ever.

Have not seen the crystals in the flesh, but I received a pair of JW Speaker LEDs as a gift and I can tell you, even though I was skeptical when I discovered the cost of these units, the difference is that good I would definitely not have minded paying the price for them.
Have ordered extra units for stationary use, low power and really very good bright white light - impressively so in fact. Tough too, these will take a beating, although I do think they could do with a little dinitrol to hedge against rust. ****CENSORED**** |

I have the Osrams fitted with the standard Quad Optic lenses and yes the light is whiter but I don't see the extra beam length as mentioned on the packaging. Next thing for me is to replace the head lights with some clear lens ones to hopefully improve the candles. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Got both on my 90..
Fitted the Crystals and got a decent improvement, then a few months later and a blown bulb, popped the Nightbreakers in.. Again, another decent improvement in light output.. One of the cheaper mods, and it's simple to do. Oh, and while you are at it, you may as well swap the lamp retaining rings for stainless ones.. Still need to do it to mine! ... ,-------, .. Best upgrade I made. Made even better with the relay upgrade to spare the light switches melting.

I have a 2011 Puma, does one need a relay and loom upgrade to run these or will the stock wiring take it without melting the wiring and switches?
It's easier for me to get the bulbs first then do any loom and lens upgrades later on. Thanks. |

I've been running these for around a year with no other mods and so far they've been fine I started with nothing and still have most of it left!

I have fitted them to the bog Wipac Quadoptics with the standard wiring and it makes a BIG difference. £15 well spent!! I wouldn't wait for a lamp to die...get the Nightbreakers in straightaway.

Ebay seller called Metro.direct in my case. Were less than £15 inc postage. I also bought a pair of H7s and H!s for another vehicle and this sellers price on the three sets was the best total price I could find. All three were the Nightbreaker Unlimited.
