hmm some more.
so I've done some 'testing'. I have 3 email accounts; - name / talktalk.net - name / company name.c.ouk - name+surname / company name.co.uk all on Microsoft outlook, all on the same laptop and same internet connection. the talktalk account works fine. the name / company name works the name + surname doesn't? the two company accounts have all the same details but for some reason the one won't send emails anymore? any clues? I think there was an issue earlier with one of the tick boxes being different but that's not the case now? |

Open outlook, click on file, then click on info if not already highlighted, then click on account setting, highlight the account that is working double click on it, when the dialogue box ‘internet email setting’ appears copy down on a piece of paper all the information in the boxes, then cancel internet email setting.
Follow the above again but this time double click on the account that is not working and note if any of the setting are different, if so change them to the account setting that are working that you wrote down earlier. thank you.
tried that and amazingly I did find a discrepancy (I had smpt before email address rather than 'mail') on the outgoing mail server. anyhow that's now changed and I've checked and double checked all the settings and I get the following when I try to send from the 'dodgy' email address to one of the other two...... 'Send test e-mail message: None of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your server. any thoughts on that Gilarion? thanks again. |

I must have gone and twiddled with it !
but to be fair I must have done it without knowing / unintentional unlike the defender. anyhow all has been fine for some time but now outlook seems to be downloading oodles of MB's each time I turn it on and when I delete stuff it appears to stay in the 'inbox' ? any thoughts please? |
