I reckon it's the other way around, all Disco had the CDL fitted (even if not linked) up to circa 2001 I think.
Edit: Well, mine certainly doesn't have neither the CDL nor the linkage. But you should ask on D2BC, mostly likely someone there will have a genuine selector if that's what you're after (either Heathy or someone else). my 2004 did not have it. i changed T box to get one with it.
join the d2 boys club and Pm a guy called "50" he makes very good linkage sets for a great price! i bought one from him. most of the D2 boys also buy from him My 109 thread

Thanks, chaps, that knocks one theory on the head straightaway then!
The Ashcroft one is the one I already have, and it differs significantly from the genuine original one in that the pivots and slidey bits are all exposed underneath. The genuine one is more enclosed, more like a box shape. The only reason why this is significant really is that the genuine type is better pretected from crud and also keeps water from entering the cabin if the vehicle is wading. With the aftermarket type the rubber gaiter round the lever is the only barrier against an artesian well. I am probably being un-generous in this view, but I have always been rather put off the D2BC because it seems, well, rather "yobbish", especially compared to the civilised environment of Def2. Perhaps I'll go for another look. Thanks all! |

Only joking. Some of us are reasonably civilised and even know which fork to use. The answer to your d2 question is that some face-lifts have the transfer box internals, some have standard fit different lock and some have nothing. There doesn't appear to be a pattern identifiable. I had an early 2003 with it, a late 2003 without and a friend has a late 2003 with it..... Go figure! V8 90...WIP |

Mine had the cdl internals but no lever. If you don't want to spend 250 upwards on a lever, I fitted a complete d1 cdl lever set to mine, and it works perfectly.
