Would be nice to know!
Im sure Land Rover will have a few "half full" parts bins that need to go? We have one of the very last 300tdi discos, they threw everything they had leftover at it, before making the D2 Sure it would have cost a fortune buying all the parts and fitting yourself. Someone will get a nice "pimped" factory one for sure! 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

Hello from a 50% Welshman living in Aus. 2016?...I believe that is incorrect. Date of last production is 20the December 2015. Pickles. |

2016
I Have heard different They may not stop production at all. It will stop in the UK but there are other countries that can still produce the defender as we know it and sell them to the UK. Just what i've heard |

I've heard from a reliable source (actually it is the distant cousin - twice removed of the brother in law of the night cleaner in the factory) that all this is pure speculation, conjecture and rumour mongering monkey business.

Hi Pickles
I was told by main dealers that all ltd editions will be built 2015 But the last edition will not be released till 2016 although they will have been built. That has come from Stratstone though I was advised that if I want the last edition to wait as they will launch some editions sooner and leave the best till last. They even said the last edition will be in such few numbers that one per dealer is expected. |

G'Day Steve.
That does sound feasible. The "Final Editions" as & when they are released, will be interesting. JayBoy, I've heard that too, even read articles by supposedly informed L.R. "Specialist" Journos......and I believe it's rubbish. There is simply not enough demand for the Defender as we know it, which is costly to produce, & is also being outsold, out "regulated", outclassed, & outpriced everywhere. Taking production facilities O/S is not going to change that or improve sales, particularly when the "New" Defender is released. So I believe it's rubbish. Pickles. |

Cancel your order and put an order down for a Bowler. It won't be far off the final outgoing spec. |

All remaining Defenders have to be registered..( irrespective of when built).. Before April 2016.
After this they will not meet the newly introduced diesel emissions. All dealers are aware of this. LR need the space where Defender is assembled.....they are keen to end Defender. All suppliers know that production is ceasing..there will not be a huge " final push" LR know how many they will build in 2015..they have a production plan..calanderised. When they are gone... That's your lot! Make today a little better than yesterday but not so good as tomorrow.... Defender 90 HT............Pangea Green BMW X3 Msport............Carbon Black Mini Electric................Grey. (wow!) MGB Roadster……..........Vermillion 17k miles Honda Benly CD200....Maroon --------McLouis Fusio........7.4m of fun |

Exactly Clemmo.
Some get carried away with Defender,.....and rightfully so, so do I, Wifey & I love ours,.....BUT, with sales around 15,000 WORLDWIDE, in the real world, we're in the minority. Even though production will be over in less than a year, here in Aus, ya would not know it. There's plenty around, new & used, & as far as new is concerned, there's some big discounts around,...I don't think anyone pays retail,...and all this for a vehicle that's shortly to be no more,........does NOT look like big demand to me,....which is a major reason they're going. Having said all that, we love ours, it was built to order, has all the factory options we wanted, and the fact that ya won't be able to buy a new one shortly, makes it all the more "special". Pickles. |

So what you are saying is that if mine is built 1st week of March then it could be one of the last built? After build it has to get through final QC, down to Gaydan for last last QC and then to the dealers before beginning of last week of March to be registered otherwise I've bought a pup that cannot be registered? Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |
