Hello All
I have sent out an up date to all the UK / Ireland Land Rover Clubs listed on Page 10 of this thread. Second Contact with Land Rover Clubs I covered 2 points... 1. We have a Provisional Date: Sunday 16th August 2015 2. We have a Web Site: www.DefenderTribute.com www.DefenderTribute.com... I have stated that the date is subject to various organisational aspects coming together. We have opted for a summer Tribute that appears not to clash with a major 4X4 Event. There is the potential for developing contact with Jaguar Land Rover, which may influence both the date and the event itself. I have directed those interested in the idea of joining the Tribute towards the Site so as planned we can; 1. Establish a Central Source for information 2. Measure general interest / Numbers. Just to take 'stock' at this point: Land Rover Club List Contact / Interested Failed Contact No Reply (at last edit date) There are 67 Clubs on this List Contact / Interest has been received from 11 Clubs (via e-mail) Contact Failed with 8 Clubs (with wrong or out of date www information) No Reply from 56 Clubs Interest from Defender2Net Members 59 (27th April) Registered Interest on DefenderTribute.com 46 (27th April) To make this happen requires a number of logistical steps being in place, I would be very happy to hear from any D2N Members (via PM) to progress the idea. Currently I have the beginnings of a TO DO List which if we can divide (but coordinate) via a 'Steering Group' would I think go along way to getting this right. Personally I'm quite happy if we end up with <50 Defenders having a good day out... Who's up for a bit of Organisation... Had a simple idea on how we could spread the word about the event and maybe get more members to join. There's probably quite a few new members who would love to come around but haven't stumbled across the thread.
If you reference the event thread in your signature, any member reading your post would become aware? Fairly straight forward solution I guess. Example below... MY15 Aintree 110 SW - for sale - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic82781.html MY16 Santorini 90 HT - sold |

Hi Ryan, It's July now, Defender production is due to end within at least the next 6 months. We have all, I imagine, seen the superb event put on in Switzerland with official support from JLR and I'm sure there's equal, if not more, support from UK owners who would love to help JLR make a (cost-effective) big send off... Any further news would be really gratefully received. My worry is that we're now so far on in the year that either nothing will happen or it will be at such short notice many people cannot attend. Cheers. |
