not that uncommon on the late transits for filter damage , just replaced a transit engine for same thing driver touched a kerb and holed filter needed engine and turbo replaced ( courier driver just kept driving , still drove when it came in just knocking badly ) , engine was only 12 weeks old in it anyway fitted under warrentry because of the problems with the later oil pumps on the 2.2 tdci
don't think I would have wanted it taken to a dealers , they will charge for replacing filter housing and guess any warrentry will be gone now they seen that or will advise new engine Last edited by munch90 on 9th Nov 2014 5:00pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Three years ago after getting the stainless steel intercooler grilles made I proposed an oil filter protector.....

There are things already available at a price.... http://www.entreq.de/protection-gear/schut...uhler.html http://www.extreme4x4.co.uk/acatalog/TRANSMISSION_GUARDS.html If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

The Entreq one looks nice and apart from the price looks good, however it looks like its retained by the anti roll bar bolts.... I'd hate to have to pull that off every time I change an oil filter. Jonno |

I have the entreq guard fitted, when I fitted the guard I also fitted a diff lock drain plug... Had a big service on Friday and it did not need to be removed

They are the fuel lines
If you look at the product on the entreq website, move your mouse over the top left of the photo .. Additional photos are displayed |

All fixed and everything ok. No issues with warranty either. Now after a guard that covers the oil filter. Just guna look at the one above.
