No cure, unfortunately you'll have to either live with it or adjust driving style to suit.....Do a search under 'rev hang.'

My 2.4 used to do it sometimes. The airbox mod seems to have eliminated it. http://defender90xs.blogspot.co.uk/

mine used to do it, there is a new software fix for it from dealers. Had it done last week, made a huge difference.

I've noticed that it can often be EGR instigated, just my observation of when that starts playing up and how it behaves.
I tend to where possibles especially in very cold weather let it idle for a few minutes before setting off. |

Is this fix just for 2.2 engines Nicks, or across the board for Pumas?... Would you have the software fix reference for the upgrade please?... Rog... The GREEN One... MY2016 Urban Truck Build Thread - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40548....al[/color] |

Mine also does it just as you described. as I am sure you have discovered can be embarrassing during low speed manoeuvres, only cure seems to be slapping the clutch pedal just as it starts and feeding back out; tiresome, however, dealer couldn't help. I am sure I read somewhere on here that a side benefit of a remap was no more Kangarooing; little drastic! Not heard of Nicks software fix so would appreciate it if you (Nicks) could let us know what happened eg did you go to the dealer about the problem, did he call you to say there has been a recall or how did you get to know about it. Thanks

I also suffer from this (MY2014 90sx) and would be really interested to know more about the software upgrade? I've learned to live with it but still very annoying. Defender Puma 2.2 XS 90

I have a remap, intercooler and the latest ecu flash...... and still the same.
It almost seems like play in the drivetrain springing back and forth at slower speed. If that makes sense? |

Mine (2014 110 van) occasionally does it slightly, usually only when starting off from cold, but I've not thought it worth going back to the dealer for (so far...).

Who did the map ?
I have a BAS map on my 2013 90 and it solved the kangaroo issue. When you say you have had the latest ECU flash was it done after the Map ? If so, the ECU flash will wipe the map from what I have been told. BAS Map & had the latest ecu flash when the intercooler was fitted.
I will be changing the drive flanges this week as there is loads of play in them! I hope this may reduce the kangarooing a little?? |

The last flash Landrover made was only applicable to the 2012 cars to bring them inline with the 2013/4 cars.
Their has been no new updates now for over a year that change the torque delivery action of the throttle pedal at slow, low speeds in low gears. The quirk can happen when thr driver should stay in a low gear eg 1st or make the decision to accellerate or not, rarther than hovering on the throttle. It can be driven round fairly easly by slightly changing the driving style at very slow speeds. We do as said offer a map that helps to remove the driving problem that some expreience but its not a guarentee in all cases as sometimes its the use the car is getting or drivatrain faults thats the problem.
