Caterhams posts and the replies he manages to get are always entertaining and there are some pearls of knowledge in there as well .
On that subject my gear changes have always been 'lumpy' at best unless I'm hoofing it or concentrating really hard, until recently when I noticed the engine has started to pick up the revs a little when the clutch is depressed, and all is so smooth. The only changes I've done is new discs, calipers and another set of polybushes, but I also put some new mats in the front - bad connection on a pedal?? Keith |

adafish........ Sorry if I may have 'touched a nerve if your post implies what I think it does.' What's it like having a potential stalker? Found a lovely workshop with ramp on a really decent busy and active industrial estate in Dorset should you wish to put some mileage between you. You need 'quick action roller shutters' a huge We Are Closed Indefinately' sign and employ a 'Caterham spotter' who can hit the panic button to bring the shutters down at a moments notice. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Don't have anything to add as I think it's probably been useful for our friend Caterham to work out his angst by slowly going through all the various vehicles systems cogitating over and looking for faults that may or may not be present and conjuring up theories based on nothing much in particular
All I want to know is if the title of this thread is an actual promise? Steve. Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. MoG,
Have edited your quote to suit.....
If I thought this was the case I for one (gather you're in the same bracket?) would be deliriously happy suffering from an overload of overwhelming joy and happiness. Unfortunately history dictates that despite posting such promises they never ever come to fruition. Please allow me to apologise on Caterham's behalf for his glaring error of misjudgement when posting/typing the subject matter title. A quick flit through the search facility reveals the following thread starters, this is but a selection from just 3 pages of 17 available......... did I imagine it???
If only I had a memory
central locking - grrrhh !
trying to make it last....
One of my personal favourites..... I'm struggling with the most basic stuff...
Picture time..... off we go......no we don't
fuel filter click
how does the turbo work?
who's fitted an EGR?
fix it help
waste gate
VCV - vapour control valve?
so are they sorted now?
In the interim all we can do is....... Click image to enlarge If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

On a more serious note.
I would be grateful if Caterham listed everything on his truck that actually works including his expectations of life expectancy. ( On the trucks moving parts I mean) |

Grace, favour and goodwill eventually wears thin and you'll end up getting the same response as you did with this pearler....

Live or light? Whatever, therein may be the root of some of your problems..... As an aside does anyone know if the ingredients in a packet of Polos can emit enough fumes to make my Defender possibly run smoother and more economically? Say I have an open packet of Polos in my shirt pocket and it's a hot day, I'm near the air intake while the engine is idling. I've heard from persons who may or may not be a figment of my imagination that the vapours given off by said mints could potentially cause a change in the local air quality for the better and if said 'minterized' air gets sucked into the air intake might it improve my engine performance and fuel economy? So, is there any value in suspending a packet of Polos in the air intake? Can two packs double the effect? Spearmint or regular peppermint? Questions, questions. Steve. DJ,
No tennis/World Cup/ Tour De Yorkshire pud country for me. Interestommeter for such pursuits goes full scale low. However....... MoG, Interestingly I did know of an individual who rigged up his vehicle circa 1979 with a sealed container and a tap that would feed the fumes from crushed mothballs (napthalene) into his inlet manifold when the tap was opened. Swore blind it increased performance and economy on his Avenger. Probably single handedly responsible for the holes in the ozone layer..... Your theory about Polo Mints may perhaps carry some credibility.....if you're going for it 'regular' would be my flavour of choice for best possible results.
