battery junction box missing fuse?
Newbie question. I've just bought an 11my 2.4 110xs sw as 1:i've wanted a land rover for 27 years, and 2: it's just criminal that they're going out of production.
I've spent a few weeks with it and it's just brilliant. Taking it apart to learn more about it though I came across what looks like a missing fuse assembly - see missing assembly in the horizontal row of fuse on the left of the pic. This is the battery junction box under the driver's seat

Internet docs say this should be a 30A ABS return pump fuse.

Anyone got an 11my 110xs sw that they can compare with? Is my fuse assembly missing?

Thanks

Standard on the xs?

I've got an abs check light (and traction control) on the dash when I turn on the ignition.

Permanent or do they all extinguish once you reach above 5mph? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

I have a 08XS and I popped out to have a look and my fuse slots are all occupied including the blade slots where you've another missing. If yours is still under warranty pop along to your dealer and ask or pop a couple of fuses in and see what happens.

ABS light should remain illuminated until you exceed 5mph.

Thanks, much appreciated!

Spoke to dealer today who said "it's just american spec that have this populated"

As you can't sell a puma in the US that doesn't sound right... However I know that products change continously in production so this may be a difference between 08 and 11 my?

I thought it was part of the xs pack for MY11. Which included the following over the county spec:

Anti-lock Braking System/Electronic
Traction Control
Side runners
Rear door stowage net (Station Wagons
and Utility Wagons only)
Air conditioning
Ripstop/leather seats
Leather steering wheel
Leather covered gear selector
and range selector
7 Seats - additional 3rd row
(110 Station Wagon only)
Cubby box in vinyl trim
Single slot CD, radio including
MP3/AUX & dash mounted tweeters
Heated front screen
Heated front seats
Metallic paint

Can the OP confirm he has all the above?

Hi

Yes, got all of these, plus lr supplied winch bumper, warn winch, steering guard, towbar, mats, chequer plate etc. Looks quite cool.

It's a land rover assured vehicle so should be straight.

In manual that's shown as a yellow 20 amp fuse but "not used", so maybe been taken as a spare elsewhere?

Looking again, you appear to also be missing the anti-lock brake system (ABS) pump relay, which should be to the left of the bank of 3 shown above the fuses.

You're right, no relay in pos 1 far left.
Just so I know I'm not going mad, this is the hcu for abs/traction control, right?

This looks like a newer model than the one in the manual. The vehicle is a July 2011 build so quite late maybe this explains differences?

ABS Modulator.....

Puma 2.4 up to MY2010, ABS is WABCO (same as td5)

Puma 2.4 MY2011, ABS is BOSCH

Puma 2.2 MY2012 and newer, ABS is BOSCH

Accelerate quickly.
You'll soon see if it's working or not.

Does yours do this?.........

ABS light should remain illuminated until you exceed 5mph. If not it may be there is an issue and to mask it the fuse has been pulled. Does the ABS and traction control actually work? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Do the tests, as K9F suggests it does look a little suspicious, especially with the Censored answer given by dealer, which sounds like it's more designed to get rid of you quickly then actually reassure you Evil or Very Mad

Tested. Result, one muddy landrover. Abs works, traction control works - lights up on dash (last bit was quite difficult as continental tyres are quite good).

Thanks for all replies, very much appreciated.
