To all the knowledgeable types please help.
I am wanting new wheels and tyres for the ute and have read and re-read all the posts regarding them but whenever I see numbers in a group I go gaga So the choice is down to KM2 or STT am I correct in thinking sizes only up to 265/75 for 7" rims? KM2 is slight favourite because of longevity but I don't know what you would expect from the STT. Wheels are more problematic. I like Blindo's but black is unavailable afaik and I do want black wheels, other options are zu rims 7x16 the terrafirma ones but can't find any pics to see what they look like fitted. Also no-one has come up with a good reason not to go down the steel modular route and save a fortune and could I go with 8" wheels without a lift? Oh and the truck will soon be getting winch+bumper, underbody protection and roll cage. Presumably this will have a bearing on wheel/tyre choice? I nearly bit having just spent a fortune on Cooper STTs. If anyone can get BFG KM2s at the moment in this country good on ya! Ken has got more gen but BFG tyres dependant on style wanted are on back order going back as far as November. I had a proverbial nightmare sourcing mine, even Fekete had a go up north to no avail, well not immediate but a 5-6 week wait for them.
What you want and what you can source may be two entirely different things dependant on who's got what in the way of stock tucked away! Willy you can put your fishing rod away now! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Just reread this post and noticed the above - Fekete I am surprised you didn't pipe up a bit more? Fekete's Land Rover has modulars go have a rummage in his gallery. His are 10 x 15s the same size of wheel that I have just received. They look well ace and are extremely functional! The width of tyre prevents you from getting stuck, even allowing you to assist more experienced drivers to get out of the mire! Apparently! Ain't that so Sonic? Got my fishing rod out now Willy, baited and going for a 'Sonicfish!' These are Mach 5 but Zu's look exactly the same but are not so wide, Go on you know you want to!
