Thanks for your comments and advice. Thanks to AndrewS i now have the correct brackets i need for high cap i just need to get to the stage where all spare parts are out of it so i can re mount the body.
I have been working away, but its all mechanical bits and pieces, looking forward to the stage where i can start to bolt on some tasty bits The 4.2V8 i got was in need of an overhaul, had a bit of a tapping noise which i thought could have been worn camshaft, lifters etc but have since found the source of the problem. One very bent push rod Click image to enlarge So needless to say engine is completely stripped down and will be getting loads of new bits thrown at it including upgraded camshaft Click image to enlarge |

After reconditioning cylinder heads and some new parts thrown at it, the V8 is starting to get bolted together again

Forgot to mention, make sure you put a nice exhaust on this beast, so you can actually hear those eight cylinders working.

Don't worry Pickles its on the cards, have 4 branch manifolds for it and old sports exhaust off the LSE (doesn't look the best) that the engine came out of, which i am hoping to modify
No point having a V8 and not hearing it |

What a fantastic project, proper man stuff!
Looking forward to seeing it all completed. Am jealous that your engine will be nearly twice the size of mine |

After over a month have started to tinker with project again. Managed to get it rolled into middle of drive and now have good access to both sides.
Kinda got fed up looking at it like this Click image to enlarge Need to get some bits bolted back on to it, so have stuck on another new type door, got wiring loom back into it and have gathered up some parts nothing to exciting to look at though. Engine wise there has been some progress and am hoping to get more done this evening, water pump and inlet manifold with any luck. Click image to enlarge Will hopefully have a few more pictures to update tomorrow. |
