Does the job on mine to alter the rake of the seat. I lifted my seat up off the seat box with my home made riser rails to enable me to slide the seat further back which then gave me the chance to move sideways as well.

Packing with washers allows some extra rear travel, and height, but nothing like the rear travel you get from fitting the rails. They move all the fixings at least 2" further back, so if you want max legroom washers won't be enough.

James, I have mud rails in the 90. They are tapered and lift the rear higher than the front. Much better vision now and I can see both wing front corners comfortably seated without having to lean forward.

Perhaps because they can and have run out of things to spend their money on. 
The Exmoor Trim ones whilst being expensive have three different locating options for the seat, are slightly higher and longer than the Mud ones and as a result there is quite a significant more adjustment to be had out of the seats. I do agree though, folks that can afford it should have it if they see fit, I have no axe to grind. Only thing is the more you have to wait for stuff or save for it, it means more to you then. On topic, I do like those Exmoor risers, look good too. Is there much to be gained by them with a 90 HT with bulkhead? I wouldn't want extra height but a bit more legroom would be nice though. |

Not quite busted through the barrier yet, but will do undoubtedly. It really depends how close the bulkhead is to the rear of the seats. With mine I have the bar in lieu of the bulkhead. When I get a chance I'll take a photo with the seat fully rearwards but they are mounted in the middle position on the risers. I think the seat rake/tilt would be the limiting factor with the bulkhead. Namely the further the seat went rearwards the straighter it would have to be, I like mine tilted quite a lot as I am a bit of a straight arm driver. As an afterthought with regards to washers and 'home brewing' you could not possibly achieve the distance rearwards of the seatrails with washers alone as the rear securing point now sits beyond the raised seam behind the seats. Click image to enlarge Home brew solution. Spacer blocks machined from mild steel hex bar, threaded one end, drilled and tapped on the other. You can then have any length you want, 40mm in my case and I can now see the front near side of the car. It wasn't me! |
