Cheers landy Andy I'm sure it's doable but for peace of mind ill run a single pipe with no joins to leak

does anyone know if the mantec plastic jobbie is a sealed unit with pipe etc, or would that be a raised air intake with leaks lol?
Was looking at getting one of these in jan: http://www.flatdoguk.com/defender---plasti...nd-td5~161 |

The plastic jobby, Hock is sadly merely an intake. I tried to fit it to my old Double Cab, and never managed to seal it. Doubt apaloosadude managed it either.
Snorkel is best bet for reliability, but even some of their new ones don't have protruding pipe section... I expect finding the correct Mantec one is also an option as mentioned. 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top |

I did what millsey94 said and ran a pipe from the air box then up inside my snorkel-the only way i felt confident after almost drowning a 200tdi. I found this method worked perfectly 100percent water proof- although a did have a bag from the road get stuck on my snorkel and cause then engine to die on me towing on the a35!!
