Injector wiring harness
My TD5 recently became a TD4½ and then a TD3½.
Seemed like the dreaded oil in the wiring harness problem.
Diagnostics pointed at a couple of the injectors.
Injector harness plug undone - no sign of oil.
Changed harness anyway.
I'd totally forgotten how my engine used to run. The transformation was amazing!
I've done a few hundred miles since and the performance and mpg are just like it was when I first had it.
It's just that the drop in performance was so gradual (over 60K miles) that I'd not really noticed it.
Think I'll put a new one in every couple of years..........

Just did mine. Took 45 minutes. Local specialist wanted £135 to do it!

Thinking about ordering a injector loom, few questions..
Iv looked in the red Ecu plug and no signs of oil, does the oil travel down the injector loom then towards red plug on Ecu?
Will a new injector loom have a different design to stop this problem?
Where's the best place to purchase the loom from?
Cheers all

Laurie, can you be a bit more specific as to how the engine was running/sounded prior to your loom swap?

Mine feels like its not going as it should, and seems to have a regular misfire ie slightly down on one cylinder at mid range revs. Goes OK if you really boot it, but not as progressive as I think it should be.

I have already changed the MAF sensor, and checked the turbo actuator. No oil in my ecu. Only other possibility that I can think of is either injector loom, or egr. What do you reckon, is it similar to yours? 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

Basically it got very lumpy, like something had gone out of balance and a severe shortage of power.
