Someone fitted it to my TD5 90 before i bought it, but when they changed to the discovery ratios it no longer worked other than in 4th gear!

Be aware as I am not aware of a fix!?

Cheers

Apparently Pete was (in some other posts on here, or maybe it was LRA) attempting a fix to this problem. either he or Porny should be able to fix it.

Apparently the Td5 ECU has pre-programmed limits for stuff, and it knows that say, for 70mph it has to be doing 3500rpm (as an example, i don't know what the revs are for that speed)

Now, if you fit an overdrive or a 1.2:1 t/box, (as i have), then you could be doing 70mph at, i don't know, 3000rpm?, so the ECU will think "hmmm, that's outside of my parameters as a Td5 with 1.4:1 gearing should be revving at 3500rpm.... something is wrong" and won't let the cruise work.

Whether this works on all ECU's i'm not sure, and whether the above is 100% accurate, again not sure, but that's the way i understood it when Pete was talking about it on here, and when i've chatted to Porny.

Fitted mine over the weekend.....

Tip of the day

The instructions say:

"From inside the engine bay......feed the 2 core wire through the bulk head.....
From inside the cab, find the end of the 2 core wire and feed it safely......."

Yeah right!!! - It just coils itself neatly out of sight!! Rolling Eyes

So my tip of the day - Use some nice brightly coloured nylon strimmer cord to feed through the bulk head. Its quite stiff and doesn't coil itself away - and a nice bright green in my case was easy to spot. Once its through and you can locate it you can then tape the 2 core wire to it and pull it through - perfect. Thumbs Up

Anyway - all fitted - been on a test drive and seems to behave exactly like my Freelander CC did

Obviously no light on the dash to tell you that its engaged (like the FL) - but a slight touch to the brake, clutch or the button itself and it disengages

Taking the Landie to work tomorrow - so will give it a run chugging down the A38 somewhere between 55-60MPH
