Ok, great.
That looks like it was a good trip! Is the tent just lashed to the roof rack or did you make brackets? |

I have seen an oztent attached to the side of a rack before but couldn't say how.
Does it have to be an oztent? We have both oztent and a tentipi with stove and find the tipi a preferred option, only takes a few mins to pitch, Infact is quicker than the oztent as still have to fit sides and guy out etc. Also have a foxwing but is still in the garage awaiting arrival of the hannibal rack. Once finally here and installed we will be trialling the awning and sides together with tipi to see how things go. |

Why not use a Maggiolina side awning M11/A?
OK not the same amount of privacy as the Maggiolina changing room. Dependent on height of your vehicle you would need either the M13A-2 or more likely the taller M13a-3 as the changing room. Your Hannibal rack is 1.41 m wide, 2.75m long whereas the small Maggiolina are 1.3 m wide and the medium are 1.45 m wide and 2.1 m long Some of the Maggiolina range can have loads on top, dependent on roof tent that is about 15-20 kg which would limit it to the smaller Oztents. Fyi, i have a medium maggiolina fitted with foxwing. Concerning the width they are a bit wider then the roofrack but not on the bottom. See my avatar or galery if you want pictures.

Hi Brendan, sorry to go O/T but what are the M13a-3 changing rooms like? not much info on the internet or actual pictures of in use. Such as ease of putting up, room inside, quality of material? Back on topic, I had a Maggiolina and an Oztent. Never really got on with the Oztent which was a small one, I carried it inside a 90 which didnt really work so sold it and bought a 2.4m Hannibal awning and sides. This works very well but only has 3 sides which I dont like. Seriously thinking about the M13a-3 Steve |

I really need a setup that is quick and easy both to pitch and to put away. I guess most combinations are possible with a little thought and homemade bracketry!
I have seen images of the maggiolina annexes but they look a little small. The family has grown by 2 since we bought the howling moon back when we first got married, so need to sleep 4 in comfort. Brendan, I only live in huddersfield so could view stock if that is possible? I hope I don't offend by saying that back when we bought the howling moon we did come to your house to look at maggiolina stuff. Sorry. I kind of wish I had listened to you because it wouldn't have meant a potential second purchase. |

Just a couple of ideas.
Maggilina linked to an Oztent Click image to enlarge Now is this a new quick erect rooftent? Click image to enlarge Am a bit dubious amount the standard peak side panels fitting correctly Shows how versatile this tent is Brendan Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

Thats interesting I too have a tentipi with a wood burner, but was thinking about getting a OZ Tent for one night stopovers etc i assumed it would be much quicker to erect and take down than the tipi? I love the tipi but for one night stopovers the tent & the floor takes time to put up and longer to pack away neat. Love to hear what take the time with the OZ? Putting up the basic OZ tent takes minutes. It stands up on it's own and then only needs six pegs to hold the shape. Packing away is equally straightforward.
I've used an OZ in its' basic form on a move every day trip and it was very easy to live with. Adding the panels to make the front porch into a room takes longer as there's more pegging and guy ropes involved.
