I don't want to hijack the thread but a combined oztent/foxwing set up might be the right combination of awning/tent perhaps A man with no boat is a prisoner

Yes the oztent in its basic form is nice and easy to put up and I would find it much easier than the tipi if erecting on my own.

The weight, pack size and carrying is its downsize but if there was only 1 or 2 of us for a single night then would probably favour the oztent. As said above to put up and peg out, the oztent is a couple of minutes. If you have the sides, front etc then it takes 15 mins to properly get up.

Thats interesting I too have a tentipi with a wood burner, but was thinking about getting a OZ Tent for one night stopovers etc i assumed it would be much quicker to erect and take down than the tipi?

I love the tipi but for one night stopovers the tent & the floor takes time to put up and longer to pack away neat.

Love to hear what take the time with the OZ?

We use our tentipi for 1 night stop overs but we don't bother with the ground sheet (we do sleep on oztent stretchers)
