I've been a little quiet .......
anyhow after the latest round of fixes things are pretty good. had a great trip to Bristol and back .....well almost. the m5 was shut and ended up turning round and coming home however while on the move the def ran beatifully nearly all day today. 'nearly' i've ended up going outside cleaning electrical connectors, and the MAF sensor. went for a drive and was experiencing more of the 'clatter' than earlier in the day and with the clatter comes the lack of 'go' however this may be me not trying cos it doesn't sound like I should be pushing it???? anyhow here is my question (possibly one for lorryman, or at least someone that understands how the engine and all its sensor / ancillar parts work). after going for a wee drive and thinking something wasn't right. when I got back I reved the engine in while stationary. sounded lovely but on the one blip at circa 1750 rpm the rev needle was all juttery? had it happened at any other speed I'd have thought it was just a one off blip however having always thought something wasn't quite right at that particular speed its got me wondering......does the egr do something at this engine speed? many thanks |

thanks RustyM.
I kind of knew most of that anyway however the last comment of opening once upto temp and above a certain rpm hints at it possibly being the egr that was the cause of my 'stuttering' at 1750rpm - perhaps? |
