England 2009 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 HT Galway Green
ENGINE MANAGEMENT LIGHT
Help please, just replaced bonnet release cable and while i had fan cover off sprayed rusty coil in the middle of fan with a drop of wd40 put everything back together drove down the road engine management light stays on all the time, what is that coil could it whats causing the light to stay on or something else ? thanks bunny

The rusty coil in the middle of the fan is the viscous fan coupling. Can't think of any reason why spraying that with oil would result in an engine management light - it's an entirely mechanical device with no connection to anything else. Darren

thanks for that darren haven't done anything else does that mean a trip to land rover or just wait until something stops working ?

Could be a nuisance code like the P1103 EGR one that automatically resets after a few driving cycles. In the absence of a fault code reader and no limp mode I'd leave it a couple o' days. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

just had land rover do a diagnostic, came back with air mass meter fault ,eml light was on when picked up, it up went off on the way home, came back on today.is this air mass meter easy to change was quoted £174.00 looks like two screws if im looking at the right part? any help would be greatly appreciated thanks bunny.
